Kent Coral-Vite is a vitamin & mineral supplement for both hard and soft corals. I have used it now in my 14 gallon nano reef for about 8 months. I initially bought it because many of my corals, particularly zoas, colors were washed out and had been for months. This product was cheap and I figured it was worth trying. It also only has to be added to the aquarium about once a week which is a huge plus.
I began adding just 1 ml a week to my nano reef tank. I made no changes to my water change schedule, feeding, and did not dose any other additives. For the first 2- 2 1/2 weeks I did not notice any major changes. By week 3 however, to my surprise, there was a significant changes in my corals coloration and health. It was like a switch had been flipped. My zoas in particular were brighter and now fully opened regularly. In the following few weeks and months there was also a noticeable increase in growth rate, which was a huge secondary benefit.
Here’s what Kent advertises is in the product:
Inorganic mineral salts of Barium, Boron, Bromine, Calcium, Cobalt, Fluorine, Iodine, Iron, Lithium, Magnesium, Manganese, Potassium, Rubidium and Strontium; EDTA, Vitamins: L-Ascorbic Acid 2-Sulfate Dipotassium Dihydrate, Vitamin A Propionate, Vitamin A Palmitate, D-Activated animal sterol (D3), Folic Acid, Choline Chloride, Niacin, d-Pantothenic Acid, Thiamine (B1), Pyridoxine (B6), Riboflavin (B2), Vitamin B12, d-Biotin, Tocopheryl Acetate (E), Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex (K3) in a base containing Deionized Water, inorganic stabilizing compounds, and preservatives
When I purchased this product I did not expect much. I am generally very skeptical additives like this one. I am very glad I made this purchase though, it worked. As advertised Kent Coral-Vite brought my corals coloration back and overall increased their health. If your corals are looking a bit washed out and unhappy definitely give this product a try. I am still using it today with great success.
